Reading Comprehension
Unlock your student’s potential with our immersive reading experience, where comprehension meets adventure! Students will journey with our brave Treehouse Heroes as they dive into epic stories that inspire, challenge, and enrich their understanding of diverse topics. Each adventure builds vocabulary and encourages active participation, as students engage with discussion questions, master vocabulary, and assess their understanding. Storytelling & Claymation
Kids love watching animated films, but imagine the excitement of making one themselves. With your guidance, they’ll learn to combine the skills of an engineer, a mathematician, and an artist in a fun, hands-on journey. From writing scripts to designing characters and sets, they’ll master the basics of storytelling, character building, and stop-motion animation. This “Serious Play” project fosters creativity, critical thinking, and teamwork—plus, it’s the perfect way to teach core math and science concepts as they bring their unique stories to life!
3D Design
Empower young minds with Tinkercad, the ultimate tool for introducing students to 3D design! Perfect for STEAM education, Tinkercad brings creativity to life, allowing students to collaborate on real design projects while reinforcing key concepts from the classroom. Through hands-on 3D modeling, students develop skills in engineering, architecture, and animation. They’ll master the Tinkercad interface, learn to create and manipulate shapes, build models and tackle real-world design challenges.
Coding
Launch your student’s learning from 3D design to the world of coding with Tinkercad Codeblocks! Students move beyond design to explore the logic and creativity of programming and computational thinking. Through hands-on coding, they’ll build their own interactive simulation. The digital resources include everything an educator needs for seamless instruction: a clear list of teaching objectives, detailed curriculum standards, a complete materials and resources list, a pacing guide to keep lessons on track, and a ready-to-use PowerPoint or Google Slides presentation for interactive teaching. The physical portion of each box is packed with nearly all the claymation materials needed** for students to create their own short movies, offering a creative, hands-on experience that reinforces learning objectives. LAUREN HUTTON
AUTHOR
Lauren Hutton is a writer and journalist from South Florida. She has a B.A. in English and women’s studies from Colgate University, where she received the 2021 Lasher Prize for Distinction in English Composition. More recently, she was a Thomas J. Watson Fellow, in which she traveled across four continents for 13 months to investigate how sexual violence stories are reported around the world. Her writing has appeared in Electric Literature and the Columbia Journal, and she champions works she loves as a publicity assistant at Farrar, Straus and Giroux. She believes in perpetual learning and remaining curious about our world and the people who inhabit it.
LEA McCONNELL
CURRICULUM SPECIALIST
Lea has a masters at Queens University in Elementary Education and a second degree in Special Education. A member and presenter at NSTA. This is currently her 21st year teaching. Her teaching philosophy is that children should feel loved in the classroom and encouraged to learn from their mistakes. Without this confidence, children are often afraid to try. Learning should be fun and challenging. I am honored to lend my talents and knowledge to Flicker of Light.

Born in Uzbekistan, Yerlan Kuttybayev lives and works as an illustrator in Kazakhstan. He has been a freelance artist for the last 7 years. His motto, “I prove my artistry and professionalism with every drawing.”

Frank Figueredo is an artist and professional illustrator born in Venezuela and currently based in Madrid. “My passion lies in creating attractive designs and characters that effectively communicate emotions and feelings.”

DESIGNER
Dragica is a graphic designer based in Belgrade, Serbia. She received a Master of Laws degree from the University of Belgrade. After working in the field of law she found passion in graphic design and never looked back. She is well-versed in logo design, brand identity, and UI and UX design. Dragica always aims to push creative boundaries. Clients appreciate her ability to pursue different and out-of-the-box directions and her willingness to accommodate various design requests so that each project is a glowing success.
